Broward County Emergency Order Closes Pools, Party Rooms and other Recreational Amenities

Broward County has issued Emergency Order 20-05, closing all commercial and non-commercial recreational amenities including pools, pool decks, party rooms, hot tubs, golf courses, tennis courts, basketball courts, fitness centers, gymnasiums, and community rooms. The order includes condominium pools and amenities but does not include pools at single-family homes. Specific exceptions to the order include recreational amenities that are: (a) required for the conduct of an essential service, as defined by the Governor’s Executive Order 20-91, as amended; or (b) located on a single family residential lot, a single townhouse unit, or any part of a duplex lot, so long as the recreational amenity is utilized only by the inhabitants of that lot or unit. Milestone events prior to the arrival of the storm.

1) Pool furniture - removed.

2) Pool is now closed until further notice

3) Recycle bins have been stored, they will be put out after the winds have subsided.

4) Laundry room and storage room windows have been closed.  DO NOT reopen until further notice. 

5) Elevator will be shut down at 6pm tonight until the storm has cleared our vicinity. 

6) Once the high winds begin, DO NOT use the internal stairwells, the vacuum created by the winds can rip the door off the frame when opened and potentially pull you with it. If you must go out in the high winds use the external staircases ONLY.

7) Remove your personal outside furniture and doormats prior to the arrival of the storm. Anything that is light that could become a projectile must be stored.
